Membership Process Overview

Sponsorship and Compatibility: Prospective members need endorsement from two active members, reflecting our emphasis on compatibility and active participation. It's like extending your circle of friends, where mutual enjoyment and shared interests in sailing are key.

Engagement and Participation: We encourage sponsors to introduce potential members to various club functions and cruises. This not only helps assess compatibility but also ensures prospective members are keen on actively contributing to the club's vibrancy.

Application Procedure: Interested candidates should be formally introduced by their sponsors to the Vice Commodore, providing comprehensive details about themselves and their sailing credentials. This step is crucial for integrating new members who are not just enthusiasts but also contributors to our club's legacy.

Integration and Acceptance: Post-consideration by the Board of Directors, candidates are invited to further engage in meetings and cruises, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued. Sponsors play a pivotal role in this phase, ensuring prospective members experience the warmth and camaraderie that define our club.

Commitment and Final Steps: Prospective members are encouraged to participate in at least fifty percent of club cruises to demonstrate their commitment. Following a period of active engagement and upon fulfilling the membership criteria, their application is moved forward for final board approval.

Community Voice: Our process respects the opinions of our existing members, allowing for objections to be raised in a manner that upholds the club's values while ensuring fairness and privacy.

This approach underscores our commitment to fostering a vibrant sailing community where every member contributes to and benefits from the shared experiences and adventures that make the Blue Water Cruising Club unique.
